The mitten book ... sigh.

Those Russian books were unique. They had an outlet that sold them right around the corner at Gorky Sadan. I wonder where I'll find them now. I was past the stage for those books at the time they started getting popular but we would buy them often to gift to the kids of cousins and friends. They were a feast for the imagination. I love how you used wild and innocent in consecutive sentences.

This post is a treat - this special khichdi recipe is all the more welcome on a soggy day that follows an unpleasantly rain sodden night. I will read it over and over and lose myself in the nuances.

And feel the tender skin of a long lost love next to mine as we turn the pages in my imagination.

The way you write, Sri, is not about the topic. Instead, I find myself reading this piece intimately-- soaked in your and Priti's lives and the lives of books that reached you, remembering my own encounters with people places and books.

A whole new geography descends. I am smiling here.
